Technically Teaching (Lynn's Blog)

This blog will address my thoughts about using technology with elementary students. Many elementary teachers are apprehensive to incorporate technology into the curriculum. My goal is to be an instrument of change in that area and to be an encouragement to my fellow Educators as they discover the many benefits of using technology in their classrooms.

My Favorite Sites...

Here are a couple of my favorite sites for education:

(Click on the green links)

Ben's Guide

Ben's guide is a great site for educators. It is sponsored by the Federal Government and gives great insight into government policies and practices. It has links for early elementary school children through high school. It's a really fun site!

I Spy

This is a link to Scholastic's collection of online I Spy games. It is a lot of fun!

Here are a couple of my favorite sites just for me...

Mighty Leaf

I love tea, and this is about the best site I know to explain the origin of different types of teas, their nutritional value, where they are grown, and the latest really cool tea "gadgets."

Hotel El Encanto

This site shows a little about what I learned this summer - it is the website for the hotel where I stayed in Juayua, Sonsonate, El Salvador. The Hidalgo family, owners of the beautiful bed and breakfast are also coffee plantation owners and I gained a new respect for coffee - I even drank some while I looked out the hotel window at the steaming volcano less than 20 miles away!
